Russia has many top players - Davydenko, Youzhny, Andreev, Tursonov are all in the top-50. Safin could be a very erratic, but he was consistent enough to win the Davis Cup.
Last last year won the deciding rubber 5th
and so far he has justified his position back from 2 sets to beat a top 10 player Berdych.
I think playing for your country gives him a big bill, and really put a whole.
the one hand, that the value would be stupid to play with him, that COS is 1.5 this season, but as u may know of the Davis Cup is an entirely different sphere.

I would say atleast Safin in Davis Cup is good.
