Dried Lychee It Wasn't A Lychee, So What Did I Eat?

It wasn't a lychee, so what did I eat? - dried lychee

Today I ate fruit that was sold as lychee, but the outer layer is dry, brown hair and covered with spines. I did some research and can not find a satisfactory answer. I think it was a rambutan, what was old. In this case, anyone know if it is bad for the food?
